April 2, 2025 – The 200 Club will return to the hostess city’s historic district for the 2025 Savannah Mile. This highly anticipated race is scheduled for 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025. The course, beginning at the south end of Forsyth Park, will take participants down Drayton Street and finish up on Broughton Street. This event will provide the local
community a chance to help support the families of fallen first responders while participating for fun and fitness.
“We are very excited to host The Savannah Mile once again in the beautiful historic district. For over 15 years, this event has served such an important role in our organization – to raise vital funds for the families of fallen heroes in our community,” said Mark Dana, 200 Club president and CEO. “The Savannah Mile is the perfect way to directly support the families of those who risk it all, while enjoying time with friends and family in the unique Savanah environment.”
The regional nonprofit is encouraging the community to get involved by registering to participate in the race, or by becoming a sponsor of the highly anticipated event. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the many family members the nonprofit organization serves with significant financial assistance, as well as a fully paid college education.
Runners and walkers of all fitness levels are invited to participate in the unique event, which will feature six heats for all ages and abilities, including family and age group divisions, followed by a “Memory Walk” for the families of fallen heroes to walk the mile in memory of and to honor their loved ones. The last run of the morning will be the “Heroes Heat,” which is open to all first responders and military in full gear or not. However, full 30-pound or over gear is required to compete for the “Full Gear All Out Flag!”
The races will conclude with an awards celebration in Johnson Square, where attendees will enjoy complimentary food and beverages while race times are announced. There will be an opportunity to join the 200 Club and learn more about our mission of helping the families of those who care for us by putting their lives and safety on the line every day.
