May 12, 2024 – Rhythm surrounds us – sometimes coursing just under the surface of our daily existence, at other times bursting into the forefront through music, dance, and other art forms. Visual art has a unique capacity to evoke rhythm even when static.

For this ARTS Southeast Supporter Call for Entry Exhibition, artists were invited to share good vibrations through photography, painting, printmaking, mixed media and more. For some, this meant tapping into natural cycles: for Oliver Smith, the path of the sun; for Ashley Jones, the phases of the moon. For others, it meant observing the rhythm of objects, as in Ivy Laurel Anderson and Heather Szatzmary’s contoured forms.

Projecting both outward on the landscape and inward toward our own bodies, Good Vibrations takes the pulse of our artistic community.
