Feb. 16, 2025 – The Bull Street corridor south of Victory Drive is continuing to attract investors as older businesses shut their doors or relocate.

The buildings that previously housed Bowen Refrigeration for almost seven decades at 4401 and 4415 Bull Street were recently purchased for $1.1 million by a Savannah-based corporation, according to sales records. The corporation’s organizer is listed in state registration records as Gil Navon, of Hollywood, Fla.

The appliance sales and repair business was established in 1956 by the late Gerald Lawton Bowen Sr. after returning from service in the Korean War, according to his 2003 obituary and Better Business Bureau. The property stayed in the family name up until the sale on Jan. 29, after the business was dissolved in October 2020, according to property and business records.

The future use of the buildings has apparently not been determined. Both 4401 Bull and 4415 Bull are now being advertised for lease by Parker Scott Properties.

The site is located a block south of the shuttered Daiss Service Center, where a developer is planning to construct a multi-family housing complex with retail, as previously reported. Richmond Hill-based Live Oak Living purchased the project site at 20 West 60th St. for $1.5 million in 2022. Live Oak Living in turn sold the property in September 2024 for $2.2 million to 4307 Bull St LLC, which is planning on moving forward with the approved multifamily-retail project, according to the real estate agent involved in the sale.

Meanwhile, the Savannah College of Art and Design is building a student housing complex almost a mile north up Bull near Victory Drive after acquiring the site for more than $10 million, as previously reported. Bull Street Estates Sales and Consignment relocated in 2023 to 1101 Eisenhower Drive after operating at the site for about 15 years.
