Sept. 10, 2023 – It’s been more than three years since Chatham County’s short-term vacation rental ordinance went into effect on July 1, 2020. This year, there were 179 vacation rental licenses issued and renewed as of Aug. 22, according to information provided by county officials. Another 75 were up for review at the time.
The map below shows where the vacation rentals are located and lists the rental address, owner, license status, when the license was issued and the license expiration date. Just click on the icon for the info. You can also find a vacation rental database in PDF format below the map. In addition you can view and download the STVR Excel spreadsheet.
FYI: The city of Savannah publishes its own map showing where licensed vacation rentals are located in Savannah. You can find it here.
Editor’s note: The information sent by the county did not initially include the full addresses for the vacation rentals or the owners of the vacation rentals (the city and state was left out). I have been able to add the vacation rentals addresses using the street address since most of them had unincorporated Savannah addresses (some others were in unincorporated Tybee Island ), however, I have not been able to add the full addresses for the STVRs owners.
Update: On Sept. 18, the county spokesperson informed me that Current limitations of the software used by the county doesn’t allow reporting of city and state location information for STVR owners. Future updates by the software vendor will allow for more clarity, and for that information to be available, according to the spokesperson. In addition, the Donatos Pizza included in the original list was included in error and has since been removed from their database, according to the county. (sorry pizza fans).
