Oct. 31, 2025 – Do you know a high school student who loves to write and perform poetry, or would be good at it if they gave it a shot? Deep Center is now holding auditions for Savannah’s 2026 SLAM Team, called Deep Flows!

Deep Flows is more than just a poetry team. It’s a movement for young artists who want to grow as writers, performers, and community leaders. Members train weekly with local poets and teaching artists, build powerful group pieces, and represent Savannah at local and/or national competitions and events.

We’re inviting high school–aged youth from across Chatham County to audition and see what it means to use poetry as a force for change.Audition Times (pick one!):

Friday, November 14 from 4-6 PM (must arrive no later than 5 pm) OR

Saturday, November 15 from 1-3 PM (must arrive no later than 2 pm)

Location: Front Porch Improv, 210 W. Victory Drive

This opportunity is free and open to all Savannah-area high school students—no prior experience needed, just passion and a willingness to learn.

If you’re an educator, parent, or community partner, help us spread the word. Forward this message to your students or post the flyer on your school or organization bulletin board. Let’s make sure every young voice with a story to tell gets the chance to shine.

If you would like to learn more or have any questions, please email brandy@deepcenter.org.
