June 24, 2025 – Film Biz Recycling will be holding the grand opening of its newest community initiative: the Savannah Tool Library, on Sunday, June 29 at its Dooley Avenue location.

The grand opening celebration is scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m., with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3:30 p.m., followed by guided tours of the facility, light refreshments, and opportunities to sign up for memberships on site.

The Savannah Tool Library at Film Biz Recycling is designed to empower the community by offering access to a wide selection of tools for home improvement, creative projects, gardening, and more—making it easier for individuals and families to take on projects without the cost of storing, purchasing, and maintaining expensive equipment. From power drills to saws, wrenches to sewing machines, the Tool Library is stocked with both everyday basics and specialty tools donated from productions and community supporters.

“We’re excited to launch this community initiative which we hope can begin to strengthen intergenerational connections and empower our friends and neighbors with the tools to succeed,” said Samita Wolfe, executive director.

Memberships are open to individuals, families, and organizations. Members will be able to borrow tools on a short-term basis, just like checking out a book at the library. Options for dynamic memberships will be available to ensure accessibility for all.
