May 2, 2025 – The Chatham Savannah Authority for the Homeless (CSAH) is looking for a new home after being notified by the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services that their lease for space at 761 Wheaton St. would not be renewed.

CSAH is now actively working to secure a new space that “will not only allow us to continue our work but also support the expansion of our services to better meet the needs of our homeless response system and unhoused neighbors”, according to CEO Jennifer Dulong.

“For more than five years, we have enjoyed the opportunity to be in this location at a deeply affordable rental rate,” Dulong said in an email to its members and community partners on Friday morning. “While we had hoped to remain in our longtime home, we respect this decision and are choosing to see this transition as a valuable opportunity for growth further enhancing our service delivery.”

Dulong said CSAH has 80 days to move and the agency aims to provide continuous service delivery to their “unhoused neighbors” in the meantime.

CSAH needs about 4000-5000 square feet of office space with a large waiting area, storage room and adequate parking for staff and guests, according to a notice sent out Friday.

Savannah Agenda reached out to the Georgia Department of Family Services for comment on Friday morning. This is a developing story that will be updated when new information is provided.
