July 15, 2025 – July is Disability Pride Month and LIFE Inc. is inviting the community to join in celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act on July 23.

“This is a day to reflect on progress, uplift disability pride, and hear real stories from people with disabilities about how the ADA has shaped their lives,” according to the organization’s Facebook post.

The ADA is a powerful civil rights law that protects people with disabilities from discrimination and helps make our communities more accessible. It opened doors—in workplaces, schools, transportation, government, and public spaces—and showed that access is a right, not a favor.

This year’s Disability Pride theme is “We Belong Here and We’re Here to Stay!”—a reminder that people with disabilities are an important part of every community.

Event Highlights:

  • Keynote Address by Local Disability Rights Leader, Karen Smith
  • Storytelling Panel: “My ADA Story”
  • Creative Expression Activities
  • Community Resource Fair
  • Photo Booth & Celebration Moments
  • FREE Refreshments
  • Gift Card Drawing (you must attend in person)
