Feb. 21, 2020 (Updated) – Built in 1955, the building at 1401 Paulsen Street once housed a dry cleaners and laundry business, according to the property records. In 1994, the Internal Revenue Service sold the property to Earl Rogers for $780. In Sept. 2018, Rogers sold the property for $225,000 to Michael T. Condon, who owns Vintage Home Restoration. Platinum Signature Homes’permit to renovate the building was issued on Feb. 21, 2020.

In September 2019, Condon also purchased the historic Webb House at 208 W. 37th St. for $55,000 after the 119-year-old structure had been damaged in a fire one year earlier, according to the property records. The fire caused significant damage shortly after the Historic Savannah Foundation had purchased the property with its revolving fund for $70,000. Condon is expected to “use a combination of restoration, rehabilitation, and reconstruction to return the house to its original state”, according to HSF’s Facebook post regarding the sale. “HSF is grateful that Michael sees the same potential in this property we do, and that he has agreed to take on this challenging project.” HSF also thanked to RePurpose Savannah for the surgical like deconstruction work conducted over the last nine months which helped get us to this point.
