Feb. 15, 2025 – US Rep. Buddy Carter recently put the final nail in satire’s coffin. The long-term viability of the artform has been increasingly threatened in recent years due to the unbelievable headlines this country’s politicians have inspired, but Carter, representing Georgia’s 1st congressional district, finished the job once and for all with his recent bill to rename Greenland “Red, White and Blueland.” Satirists and publications such as The Onion have admitted defeat, seeing the writing on the “wall” – also known as Buddycarterhouse.gov.
