June 29, 2025 – Savannah’s former strategic plan, Savannah Forward, recently cautioned the city’s latest plan, Savannah GPS, that it shouldn’t get too comfortable.

“As soon as a new election comes along, you will be forgotten about,” the shelved document warned the city’s latest interest via text.

The sentiment was echoed by some of the city’s other exes, including the fire fee ordinance, Savannah Shines neighborhood initiative and the Urban Land Institute’s 2018 Civic Center redevelopment plan that called for the demolition of the entire structure.

Even the city’s original plan chimed in.

“I remember when I was ‘the one’, the Oglethorpe Plan said.

Meanwhile, the city insisted that all of the previous plans are not forgotten.

“It’s modern times and having just one plan is a bit old fashioned,” the city explained. “This generation is all about being open to multiple plans.”
