Satire by Eric Curl

Jan. 11, 2024 –  With the first railroad quiet zones now implemented downtown, a new measure has been introduced to limit the amount of noise that emanates from City Hall.

A resolution approved Thursday asks that the Savannah City Council pledge to practice “civility” by respecting others and their viewpoints – especially when disagreeing with one another – while ensuring all communications is open, honest and transparent.

In addition, council members are being asked to make sure their shoes are tied, that they eat their vegetables and that they not pick their nose.

The resolution calls for a train horn to drown out the offending council member when the policy is repeatedly violated.
