Satire by Eric Curl

Oct. 19, 2025 – In this tutorial, we outline how to properly navigate a staircase as demonstrated on Bay Street steps by Savannahians on Saturday, Oct. 18, in order to prevent mistakes such as those made by the tourists visiting the US Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Tips for Navigating Staircases Safely

Do: Walk Carefully
Don’t: Trample Police Officers

Do: Focus on the task at hand
Don’t: Call for anyone’s hanging

Do: Assist anyone who happens to be wearing an inflatable frog costume
Don’t: Use your flagpole as a weapon

Thanks for your attention to this matter. We feel that if you follow these simple instructions, you will have a successful trip up any stairs without incident.
