The nation’s poll workers do an invaluable service, one of which should not be overlooked or taken for granted. Mine worked with no air-conditioning for more than 11 hours, while I watched another testify before the Jan. 6 committee that the former president, unhappy that he lost, attacked her and her mother for ensuring the democratic process was fulfilled. These folks should probably be the ones on the ballot.
