Aug. 25 2025 – The Mediation Center of the Coastal Empire is delighted to host the 2025 Peace in the Park celebration on Sunday, Sept. 28 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Daffin Park, located at Victory Drive and Waters Avenue, in Savannah, Ga. This fourth annual event, which is free and open to the public, will offer opportunities for community members to support peace, counter violence and celebrate unity.
“Peace in the Park is a joyful, family-friendly celebration with a powerful purpose: to spotlight peacebuilding efforts and invite all of us to be part of something bigger,” said The Mediation Center of the Coastal Empire Executive Director Jill Cardenas. “We warmly invite everyone to join us to spotlight local peacebuilders and to celebrate the belief that peace is possible, right here in Savannah.”
Designed to coincide with International Day of Peace, Peace in the Park is the result of powerful local community collaborations and a shared vision: to build a more compassionate, connected and conflict-resilient Savannah. This uplifting afternoon will offer something for everyone, including live music, free face painting, Courageous Conversation Circles that spark deeper dialogue, a Youth Artists Corner, a wellness area focused on mental health and more. Food trucks will be on-site throughout the afternoon, including The Cone Ranger, Latin Chicks, Naked Dog, 520 Wings, Ark Royale Burgers and Molly’s Fish and Chips.
“Peace in the Park represents our collective journey toward unity, healing and renewed hope,” said The Mediation Center’s Director of Youth Initiatives Sherlisa Praylo. “We warmly invite you to join us in celebrating the incredible strength within our community. Together, we can cultivate harmony and inspire lasting change through genuine conversations. Let’s take this important journey towards peace, one meaningful step at a time!”
The Mediation Center will present the 2025 Peacebuilder Awards, which honor and recognize local peacebuilders, at 3 p.m. followed by a Peace Walk and human peace sign formation.
