City Manager Pat Monahan announced this week he would finally be retiring again on Nov. 2 after agreeing to take the position on a temporary basis way back in the Before Times.
Monahan, who is known for his wood-working skills, said he looks forward to getting back to his hobbies and finishing the rocking chair he was in the middle of making before agreeing to fill the position on an interim basis.
But since his last day on the job will be just prior to the Nov. 3 general election, Monahan agreed to help the Board of Elections count the absentee ballots before returning to his life of leisure. He said he anticipates the process to be quick and thorough with no delays whatsoever.
In case you didn’t get it, this is satire. Please don’t take this seriously. Except the part about voting. Please do that.
