Dec. 17, 2023 – The city of Savannah is required to reduce the amount of groundwater it withdraws by 2025, even as area growth is increasing demand. On Tuesday, the Savannah City Council will consider a $1.5 million contract for an engineering consultant to develop a plan for increasing the capacity of the city’s surface-water treatment plant so the state mandate and future water needs can be met.
