July 24, 2026 – The Early Childhood Learning Center in East Savannah is moving closer to completion, with construction of the center at 75% in May, according to a recent newsletter.
“After years of planning alongside residents, community partners, Chatham County, and the Housing Authority of Savannah, the vision is becoming reality,” the newsletter states.
Located at the gateway to East Savannah, the nonprofit behind the project, East Savannah United says the ECLC will serve as the first step in the cradle-to-career education pipeline, where children begin their educational journey, parents gain reliable childcare that supports employment and economic mobility, and the entire community benefits from stronger educational outcomes for generations to come.
The organization’s work is now entering a new phase to transform the facility into a fully equipped, high-quality learning environment where children can thrive from their very first day. Read more about the center and how to support the effort>
