Damn! I don’t use exclamation marks much, but the folks at the Victory Prayer Synagogue know how to worship.  I felt the need to share this bit of Savannah culture after seeing the drummers and dancers in this 2016 Youtube video.  And the praise team unleashes the soul in this 2012 service, while life is celebrated right during this Facebook post from a funeral (RIPUncleKeith) in April 2019.

Granted, I was raised a Catholic and attended a church where acoustic guitar was the most stimulating part of the service,  but it was really a surprise to see all of this greatness happening inside the walls of this nondescript building at 1501 East Broad. The building was built in 1947 and the church was formed 33 years later in 1980, according to the property record and state registration.

I’m not sure what is going on with the building now (there is a for-sale sign out front), but I’m so glad I got a peak at the joy people have experienced here and just couldn’t wait to share it.
