A site development plan was submitted on Dec. 31, 2019 to convert the former Regal Cinema at 1132 Shawnee Street behind the Savannah Mall into a self-serve storage facility.
The closure of the 20-year-old theater and the others in Savannah was detailed in this 2018 article by Reporter Katie Nussbaum in the Savannah Morning News.
The plan was submitted by Atlanta-based Stein Investment Co., which specializes in such re-purposing projects.
