Satire by Eric Curl
Jan. 9, 2024 – The city recently turned to a somewhat unorthodox group of Bartertown-based consultants following reports the city lacks the water and sewer capacity to serve planned developments.
Comprised of experts from the field of Dystopian Science, the advisory board’s members are also expected to assist the city in meeting state-mandated groundwater withdrawal reductions.
Preliminary recommendations include the creation of a “deal wheel” to divvy up water allotments and utilizing the defunct Civic Center as a “dispute dome” to mediate disagreements.
“While many ideas will be brought in, only one will come out,” one board member said.
The group also endorsed the city’s use of smart water meters.
