Dec. 18, 2023 – Local nonprofit Loop It Up Savannah was recognized Monday by U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff in an official Senate Commendation of the organization’s founder and executive director Molly Lieberman.

In his tribute to Lieberman, Ossoff noted Loop It Up Savannah’s work “to provide creative art experiences and connect resources to children and families throughout Savannah and Chatham County,” according to a press release from Ossoff’s office.

“We are deeply grateful to Sen. Ossoff for this recognition and celebration of Loop It Up Savannah’s work. Building Loop It Up Savannah, and serving our community through collaboration surrounding both needs and dreams has been the greatest honor of my life,” said Lieberman. “Savannah is the beloved community, and every moment we spend creating opportunity with and for our youth are moments well spent. On behalf of the entire Loop It Up family, thank you, Sen. Ossoff, for lifting up our work! We are proud to be serving the great state of Georgia with you.”

In his address Monday, Ossoff highlighted the beginnings of Loop It Up Savannah – as a knitting class at the West Broad YMCA, as well as the nonprofit’s partnerships and current arts-based programs in literacy, mindfulness, school gardening and STEAM.

“These events, programs and workshops help build strong relationships, greater academic successes, and a more connected community,” Ossoff said. “Mr. President, I commend Molly Lieberman and the entire Loop It Up Savannah team for their work in the Savannah community and their commitment to our children.”
