June 16, 2026 – So-called “prediction market” exchanges are now accepting bets on the findings of a pending Savannah Harbor deepening study, less than a week after the Georgia Ports Authority announced the shipping channel needs to be deepened once again to accommodate larger ships.
Immediately after the announcement, rumors of insider trading within the loosely regulated industry began running rampant, including reports of endangered sturgeon giving insider tips on whether they will offer their support for the additional dredging.
