Updated Aug. 24, 2023 –  The Savannah City Council approved the transfer of 19 vacant city properties to the Galvan Foundation in January, as part of the New York-based nonprofit’s plans to acquire city properties and build mixed-income housing in Cuyler-Brownville. In addition, Galvan acquired a fire damaged historic home at 2205 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from the Historic Savannah Foundation, along with an adjacent vacant lot. Then on Aug. 24, the city announced it was teaming up with Galvan to purchase the Kiah House property, located at 505 W. 36th St., from the Historic Savannah Foundation (HSF) and restore it as a cultural and civic institution. Following the Kiah House agreement, Galvan purchased the former home of the late civil rights icon, W.W. Law at 710 W. Victory St. While not part of the city partnership, the home is also located in Cuyler Brownville. This database and map is meant as a tool to track the status of the properties.
